Community Spotlights🤩
1. Project Rakt – Divyanshi, HSA from India🇮🇳
Divyanshi founded Project Rakt, a student organization aiming to help women with anemia in rural India. Her team was a finalist in the Changemaker Global Pitch 2020, and so were awarded over $1000 to conduct blood camps, workshops, health fairs, and awareness campaigns. They’ve started to administer preliminary blood screenings and launch a public educational campaign!
2. Project Bente – Marcela, HSA from the Philippines🇵🇭
Marcela founded Operation: Bayanihan, a student-led initiative to help Filipinos in need. It aims to participate in outreach programs, including partnering with local businesses and giving them a platform. Currently, Marcela and team are working with Project Bente PH to help Jeepney drivers in the southern area of the Luzon region in the Philippines, who lost their income due to COVID-19. Drivers have been unable to work because of lockdown restrictions, so Project Bente is working to raise money and donate supplies for those affected. Operation: Bayanihan are coordinating with the Piston transport group to ensure funds go to appropriate beneficiaries. Stay up to date!
