🤩 The Common App is OPEN!
Hear from M21 Grad Anoushka on what the Common App is her top tips on how to have the easiest journey navigating it!
If you’re applying to universities in the United States, chances are you’re most likely applying to universities through the Common Application, which is now OPEN! To all the M22’s out there, I highly suggest starting early and looking up the essay prompts for the schools that you are looking to apply to, and get started as soon as you can. Don’t make the mistake of name-dropping schools too often, there can be a a lot of essays to write and you don’t want to accidentally name-drop the wrong school in the wrong essay! Most importantly, be genuine and be yourself!
Best of luck everyone!

🌟 Student Spotlight
We’re inviting new High School Ambassadors or IB graduates to write messages every week, so we can hear more student voices and IB experiences around the world. Today, we’ll hear from Kopal, IBlieve’s HSA Program Lead!
Hello! I hope that everyones reading is having a wonderful start to their week. I am Kopal, a current HSA in Indonesia, and also the HSA Program Lead here at IBlieve!
Like many of you reading, I am currently on summer break and will commence IB2 in late August. For many of us, this summer (much like the last) probably wasn’t what we expected. Another set of lockdowns and travel restrictions meant that we couldn’t spend our summer doing the usual things we love to do, and this was a very tough barrier to overcome. I want to remind you all that taking this break to fully rest and recuperate will be very beneficial to you in the fall - whether you’ll be starting IB or starting university in another country! Although it may seem unfair at times that we’ve had to be stuck at home for a while, we should try our best to channel this frustration into gratitude, self-love, and recovery. It has been a tough year for us all, so I highly encourage everyone to take some time off from whatever causes you stress and do whatever makes you happy! Start a new Netflix show, go for a walk with your family, or try a new hobby! It is also extremely vital to stay connected. Reach out to your friends frequently, host movie parties on Scener, try an online escape room… There are endless activities that you can occupy yourself with during an at-home school break. Remember that you are never alone and that you have a very supportive community here at IBlieve!
If we persevere through these difficult times, I assure you that it will all be worth it in the end and that we will come back stronger! As IB students, we must maintain high levels of motivation and drive to survive the process, but this will only be possible if we take time to rest and avoid burn out!
Please take a few moments out of your time today to do something that helps you, others, or the world ❤️ Sending lots of love and support!!
Kopal
👋 See you next week!
Thanks so much for reading this week! We believe in you!
Sending virtual hugs,
Anoushka
