🎙Community Spotlights
This week, we’re super excited to be spotlighting some of our IBlieve team members, who have gotten accepted into University!
Monica - IB in Spain, Accepted Into Imperial College London
I have firmed an offer to study BSc Biomedical Sciences at Imperial College London (and insured for UCL). The outstanding research reputation Imperial has worldwide, plus the fact that it is in the heart of London, my dream city, were the main reasons I committed to this institution!
Matthew - IB in Hong Kong, Accepted Into Imperial College London
I have decided to accept the offer from Imperial College London for Materials Science over Chemistry because I wanted to do a course with multiple transferable skills. My parents were my biggest supporters who motivated me throughout the arduous process! I would also like to thank my university counsellor and subject teachers who encouraged me to pursue what I enjoy.
One tip for incoming final years, is to start researching what you want to do early in the IB, such that you would have ample time to craft a top tier personal statement!
Eleanor - IB in Singapore, Accepted Into University of Toronto
I’m Eleanor and I’ll be studying life sciences in the University of Toronto! Specifically, I am majoring in Biological Chemistry, Health Sciences and Statistics. I chose UofT mainly because of I was awarded a scholarship which covers most of my school fees, but also because of their strong background in research and the overseas research programs that are available (in NUS cause I’m from Singapore)!
🌟 Student Spotlight
As you may know, we’re changing things up by inviting new High School Ambassadors or IB graduates to write messages every week, so we can hear more student voices and IB experiences around the world. Today, we’ll hear from Dani, an IBlieve HSA!
Hi IBlieve peeps!
I’m Dani, a Community Manager at IBlieve! Starting the IBDP in the midst of a global pandemic is not an easy feat. Seemingly endless days of online classes are what occupies majority of my time. To this day, I still have those moments when I just want to get back into bed and chill. However, I’m so blessed to have found the best way to combat that and that’s to start each day right.
The foundation in finishing a day strong is to prepare well, and start strong. Personally, I always perform well throughout the day whenever I start it with my devotional time. Through this, I am able to reinforce the identity that I am fearfully and wonderfully made! I strongly recommend that you try this or find something that would make you start your day right.
I hope that reading this encouraged you in some way! Don’t forget that you’re not alone in this journey!
Have faith and NEVER give up, God bless you all!
Dani
👋 Catch you next week!
