Happy first week of August!
🏛️ We hope you’ve had an exciting start to this month! Some of you have already started with the next school year, and for others the time is yet to come. In either cases, August is a transitional period for many students. Today’s newsletter focuses on the transition from IB to University!
🌟 For current IB students, both DP1 and DP2, today’s newsletter is the perfect opportunity to familiarize yourself with the steps to approach your university applications and reflect on the IB experience (Is the IB worth it in the end? Does taking the IB help you in university?)
🎉 Additionally, the IB has officially announced its first ever Youth Advisory Council! Did you know that our own IBlieve members shared their input with the IB to push for a body of students to represent student voices? 🌍 IB Announces First Ever Youth Advisory Council
📣 With over 1400 applicants, the IB recently announced its first ever Youth Advisory Council 2025-2026 cohort. We’d like to congratulate these students and wish them success in using their passion, leadership, and dedication to transform education worldwide.
🎉 We’re proud to say that since its initial proposal in February 2024, IBlieve members (Leila, Katie, Lucas, Imogen, Sofi, Estefy) got to share their input with the IB to push for a body of students that would represent and advocate for the student voice. We’re excited to announce that one of our IBlieve student writers Ecem is part of the council! CONGRATULATIONS Ecem! We’re excited for this journey with the YAC!
📍 What is the Youth Advisory Council? The YAC consists of 12 IB students and recent alumni who represent the IB global community of young people. During their one year term, they work together to support the development of IB Programmes, connect IB youth with education partners to deepen IB partnerships & support youth aspirations, and promote innovation at the IB by amplifying youth voices.
