THE Student x IBlieve: Why Study Abroad?
Tuesday, 9th February at 2pm GMT: Five IBlieve grad volunteers, who are current international students at universities in the UK, the US, and Canada, will be talking about study abroad with Times Higher Education Student! They will give you the low-down on what being an international student really means, offering practical tips on how to deal with common concerns such as dealing with home sickness or culture shock. You will also have the opportunity to ask your questions on the issues that are most important to you!

🎙Community Spotlights
This week, we’re super excited to be spotlighting IBlieve Community students and HSA’s who are launching inspiring projects and initiatives!
1. Senior Stamps - Isabelle, IB in Canada
Senior Stamps is a student-led dedicated to brighten the days of senior citizens through hand written letters. Currently, they work with 2 different Senior Homes in Langley, British Columbia! There are 2 programs: a general member program (a more casual program), and a pen pal program (monthly letters)!
2. International Food Fest - Avril, HSA, IB in Mexico
The International Food Fest is about cooking a traditional dish from your country, sharing the recipe and uploading it to the team’s Google unit so that everyone can see it and you can even try to replicate one as well (for more information, check the folder in there)! It’s a perfect opportunity to share our own traditions, learn a little more about each other's cultures and have a fun time cooking.

🌟 Student Spotlight:
As you may know, we’re changing things up by inviting new High School Ambassadors (HSAs) or IB graduates to write messages every week, so we can hear more student voices and IB experiences around the world. Today, we’ll start with a Student Spotlight on Bianca R., our editor!
Hi all! I’m Bianca, one of IBlieve’s three Blog Editors. It has been an honor to work with the team and the IBlieve community - everyone here is energetic, kind, and a hard worker! Editing takes up most of my time, but I love participating in IBlieve’s other projects too. You’ll spot me in our GVSs, an Instagram takeover, our YouTube videos, and as a subject representative in the IBuddies program!
Since being an Editor is my main role, I’d like to leave you with a piece of writing advice that works for every essay you’ll ever write: your first draft will *always* be perfect, because the only thing a first draft has to do is exist.
Happy writing!
Bianca
👋 Catch you next week!
